PROCEDURES

WHAT PROCEDURES DO WE PERFORM IN OFFICE?

EMG/NCS (Electromyography and nerve conduction studies)

This testing is used to help diagnose carpal tunnel, as well as pinched nerves in the neck or back. We give small electrical shocks to the nerves to measure how well they are working, and then insert a tiny needle to record the electrical activity in the muscles. The testing takes about 20 minutes, and does not require any kind of anesthesia.

EEG/AEEG (Electroencephalogram/Ambulatory Electroencephalogram)

This noninvasive testing is used to evaluate the electrical activity in the brain. It can be used to help diagnose various brain conditions including epilepsy, dementia, and sleep problems, to evaluate head injuries due to trauma, and to better understand possible causes of memory dysfunction.

Neurobehavioral testing for memory loss.

This extensive testing is used to diagnose the cause of problems with memory or other areas of brain function. It can help diagnose dementia or brain injury due to trauma or concussion.

Botox for migraines

Botox is a potent treatment for chronic migraines. We inject the medication into several spots in the head and neck, and it controls headaches for about three months. The procedure does not require anesthesia. We work with most insurance carriers.
